What has stopped working?
The original embedded game comes from perceptle.com. Our five independent exercises run on this site. A problem with one does not establish that the other is unavailable.
The Perceptle game is blank or stuck
- If a round is still running, wait before refreshing. Opening this page's quick help keeps the embedded game in place; a reload or leaving the play page can restart it.
- Open the original in its own tab. Use Open perceptle.com. If that works while the embed does not, continue there. Your browser may be restricting embedded content or its storage.
- If the direct original also fails, check your connection. Try another ordinary webpage. Once the connection works, reload the game once.
- Check a content blocker only for the affected site. A blocked game resource can prevent play. If you choose to allow it, reload that game tab; you do not need to disable protection for all sites.
- Try a different browser as a comparison. A new browser may load the game, but it will not automatically contain the results stored in the old browser.
While the original is unavailable, you can still train a single skill here. Those rounds generate new targets; they cannot replace an unfinished official daily result.
Tempo has no sound
- Turn up media volume, check silent mode and confirm the browser tab is not muted. Check that sound is not going to another connected speaker or headphones.
- Tap or click the game's own start control. Browsers can require a user gesture before playing audio; merely opening the page may not enable it.
- Keep the game visible during the four audible reference beats. The continuation is supposed to become silent.
- If only the embed is silent, open the original directly and start a fresh Tempo round there.
- For a separate check, open Tempo practice and press Start. This exercise has four audible reference beats with a matching visual pulse, then eight silent taps.
Silence after the lead-in is part of the task. In the original normal game, follow four audible beats with your taps, then continue for eight. Our standalone drill asks you to listen to four scheduled beats before the eight taps. See the exact controls.
The beat plays, but my taps feel late
- Try the device speaker or wired headphones instead of Bluetooth. Audio delay can change when you hear the reference.
- Keep one input method for a comparison: either the touch pad or a focused keyboard Space key. Switching devices or input methods changes the timing environment.
- Do not switch tabs or apps during a round. Our standalone drill stops a hidden round without saving a score.
- Read both mean offset and jitter: a steady delay and an uneven rhythm are different errors. The Tempo worked example shows the difference.
A low timing score alone cannot diagnose a browser fault. The original calibrates from warm-up taps; our practice uses a fixed scheduled reference. Their scores can differ even for a similar tapping pattern. Read the scoring explanation.
Dragging, tapping or the keyboard gets in the way
- Angle or Split moves the page
- Start the gesture inside the game field, drag to your estimate and lift your finger to submit. Scroll from outside the field. Open “Use a slider instead” in our practice pages for keyboard controls and an explicit lock button.
- Count's keyboard covers the next instruction
- Submit your whole-number guess, then dismiss the numeric keyboard. Do not reload just to close it.
- The original is cramped
- Use Fullscreen beneath the game, or choose Help and open its loading options for a separate tab. Fullscreen support varies by browser; the separate-tab option remains available.
- The page was hidden or resized
- Our standalone exercises cancel an active hidden round without recording a score. Completed results remain visible after resizing. Restart the affected round rather than interpreting an interrupted attempt as a valid measurement.
My score or progress is missing
First return to the same device, browser and site address. The original and our practice scores use separate browser storage. Opening perceptle.com directly is a different storage context from viewing it inside another site.
- Check whether you used a private window, another browser, another device or another site address.
- If the original result is missing in the embed, try the browser and direct original tab where you completed it. Third-party storage restrictions can affect what an embed remembers.
- For our practice, check the best-score list. It records a last score, best score and round count for each skill in this browser.
- Do not clear site data as your first repair step: it removes local records. If the relevant storage was already deleted, this companion has no account backup from which to restore it.
We cannot restore an official daily submission or merge scores between devices. See what is saved locally and the Archive guide for playing an earlier puzzle again.
Why is my daily number different?
The original uses your browser's local calendar date. Two people in different time zones can therefore see different puzzles at the same moment. Check your device date and time zone. For a deliberately older challenge, use Archive rather than changing the device clock. A Friday date has special rules; that is not a loading error. Read the Friday differences.
